nowhere

“nowhere” is a surreal dancing collage of images and stories, that brings the apparent nonsense of dreams to the stage.
It is a piece for one human and several objects, removed from their context and from their function. And once the object is removed from its normal circumstances,
i
t can be seen without the mask of its cultural context. Isn’t the same for us?

“nowhere” accompanies the audience in a world where everything is possible, in which everything can be something else and communicate with everything else.
A world in which our certainties and categories dissolve and we can distance ourselves from our apparent clarities. It’s about accepting the scary beauty of transformation and learning of not taking anything for granted, of staying curious, of getting rid of prejudices and stereotypes that block us in our becoming.

Surrealism, in this case, is a metaphor for openness and acceptance, towards what we don’t understand, of ourselves and of the others, underlining the importance of looking at things from different points of view and leaving always space for doubts and imagination.

Press:

“It is a body from a dream world in which the tried and tested methods of locomotion do not seem to work… In 60 minutes, “nowhere” manages to bring the bizarreness and witty illogic of dreams to the stage. With magic tricks, flexible body and expressive tension, Cristiana Casadio creates a collage that describes the power of the inner fantasy world.”
